Which Comes First?

Believe                Repent                Confess                Baptism

Can baptism come first?

A. Belief is required                Mark 16:16

B. Repentance is required        Acts 2:38

C. Confession is required         Acts 8:37

D. WE KNOW THAT BAPTISM IS LAST!

Can Confession come first?

A. Can't confess what you do not believe.

B. Required before baptism.

C. CONFESSION HAS TO COME BEFORE BAPTISM AND AFTER FAITH.

Can repentance come first?

A. Mark 1:15 "Repent and believe the gospel."

B. CAUTION: Some denominations use this because they try to prove that faith is the act that saves. If one must repent after they have faith then they are not saved at the point of faith.

C. Repent = turn again.
                1. From what would they be turning?
                2. To what would they be turning?
                3. Without faith they would just be spinning.

D. Repentance has to come after faith and before baptism.

Baptism is last; Faith is first. Now what about Repentance and Confesssion?

A. If one has not repented - THEN -
                1. They have not changed their mind about sin.
                2. One is not thinking like God thinks.

B. Confess = to say the same thing
                1. Confess means "To say what God says"
                2. To confess you must be thinking like God thinks

C. Repentance must come before confession.
