I. What is the Bible?

A. The word is not found in the Bible. It is a good word weaning "book". The Bible is a book and a library containing 66 books; 39 are in the Old Testament, and 27 are in the New Testament. A testament is a covenant or will.

2. Authority In Religion

Mt. 7:21 - Each man's religion involves attitude toward the Will of God. Our conduct corresponds to the faith developed in our lives. Men must know what is right in order to do right. Authority in our spiritual relationship must be absolute. The word "authority" means "to bee master of." Our salvation is assured when we do God's Will.

II. A COMMON ERROR concerning the Old Law states that there is a ceremonial law, which is the Law of Moses, and there is the Decalogue (Ten Commandments), which is the Law of God. Thus Moses' Law was abolished but not the Ten Commandments of the Law of God. THIS IS NOT TRUE.
