- They recognized Jesus as one who spoke the truth.
- How can we have more success in our teaching efforts?
One Doctrine
Paul taught the same in every church (1 Corinthians 16:1; 1 Corinthians 4:17)
Jude 3 - the faith (system of belief) once (and for all time) delivered to the saints
Ephesians 4:5 - There is one faith
Two Encouragements
We make mistakes - try to walk in the example of Jesus.
Our teaching will not return void (Isaiah 55:11)
Three Admonitions
You are teaching God's creatures
You are teaching for God
There are people who want to be taught
Four Instructions
Show others the benefits of studying the Bible
- Deeper faith in God
- Understanding how to live here
- Hope for eternity
Develop relationships with people and help them learn to love you
Get the people's attention - practical applications to life
Care about what you teach people - zeal, excitement, passion - Jeremiah 20:9 - fire in my bones
Five Lessons
The moral character of the teacher is extremely important.
Goodness is one of the most visible characteristics in a teacher's life.
Caution people about the evilness of sin.
God is looking for a different kind of heart. (Psalm 51:17 - broken and contrite)
When a person realizes the blessings they have in Christ, they can't be quiet.
