John’s baptism = burial in water
Based on repentance
For the remission of sins.
We should follow – Acts 2:38, Acts 22:16
Wilderness of Temptation – Matthew 4:1-11
Jesus resisted Satan – We can too.
Jesus quoted Scripture to stop temptation.
Can you quote a scripture about your sins?
Psalm 119:11 - I have hidden Your Word in my heart, so that I might not sin against You.
House of Worship – Luke 4:16 “as was his custom”
Jesus read, prayed, attended worship in synagogue and temple.
We should do the same. Hebrews 10:25
There are bad habits – and GOOD ones – This is a good one.
Fields of Service – Acts 10:38 “he went about doing good”
To sinners, to sick, to lost, to hurting, to our brethren, to world
We must follow his steps
Mountain of Prayer – Luke 6:12 “continued all night in prayer”
Then most tired – too tired to pray – This is the time to pray!
Don’t have time to pray? Don’t have time NOT to pray.
Garden of Despair – Matthew 26:38-40
Betrayed, Denied, Forsaken – by his friends
Hated, Plotted against – by his enemies
All alone – “God, Why hast thou forsaken me?”
Valley of Death – Psalm 23:41
We all face this valley of death.
Go through with Jesus at your side.
Throne of God – Heaven –
Psalm 24:7 Lift up your heads, King of Glory
Will you follow in the steps of Jesus?
Will you go where he leads?
Have you followed him?
