Introduction:
We often talk about faith.
What is faith? I know – Hebrews 11:1
Let's get deeper –
Faith is MORE than a mental exercise
Faith involves more than deciding some information is true or correct
Our faith MUST be seen, observed by others, followed, imitated
Your Faith is ACTION
Study Hebrews 11 – By faith (name) ACTION VERB
James 2:18 But someone will say, “You have faith, and I have works.” Show me your faith without your works, and I will show you my faith by my works.
Your Faith is SEEN
You may not realize it – but others are watching
They notice your faith – or lack of faith
They see how you handle situations
In Wal-Mart, the bank, the gas station, work, social settings
Others at this church know all about your faith – strong or weak
Your faith is DISCUSSED
Not just noticed – it is discussed – good or bad
It is spoken of – when you are not around
Your faith is KNOWN
Visitors who stop in – here at church – present or absent
Visitors to your home -
Family, friends, co-workers, strangers
You know about the faith of OTHERS
Larry Little, other missionaries
Others in your family – tough times, hardship, health problems
Heard about the church in:
A mission point
In this area
Conclusion:
Just like you know of the faith of those in Rome - -
Others know about your faith
What do they know?
What are they saying?
2 Corinthians 3:2-3a – You are our epistle written in our hearts, know and read by all men: 3 clearly you are an epistle of Christ
