TITLE: Fear Not, Little Flock

TEXT: Heb. 13:5-8

PROPOSITION: Jesus is Lord, therefore, I will not fear.

QUESTION: Why?

 INTRODUCTION:

                1. Fear - three uses:

                                A. To have fear, be afraid, cower with fright

                                B. To have respect, reverence, awe

                                C. To have faith = "fear not"

                2. We have assurances from God.

                3. DON'T FEAR:

 1. The darts of the wicked.

                A. Gen. 15:1 I am thy shield

                B. Eph. 6:16 Quench the fiery darts

 2. Danger.

                A. Matt. 28:20 I am with you always.

 3. Our enemies.

                A. Ex. 14:14 - Fear not, stand still and see salvation

 4. That God will forsake you for fail you.

                A. Deut. 31:6 Be strong and of good courage

                B. Ja. 4:8 Draw nigh to God, he will draw nigh to you

 5. Starvation.

                A. 1 Kings 17:13 The jar of meal shall not waste

                B. Matt. 6:26 sparrows - Are ye not more value than they

 6. That burdens will become too heavy.

                A. 1 Pet. 5:7 Casting all your care upon him

                B. Rom. 8:28 All things work together for good

 7. Man.

                A. Heb. 13:6 Lord is my helper, I will not fear

                B. Matt. 10:28 Do not fear him which can kill the body

 8. Death. Because:

                A. Man is a dual being.

                                2 Cor. 4:16 outward man perishes

                                2 Cor. 5:1 body = temporary tent

                                Ecc. 12:7 Dust returns to earth, spirit to God

                B. Lord is our Shepherd.

                                Walk through the valley of shadow of death

                C. Lord will raise the dead

                                1 Cor. 15:51 Not all sleep, all be changed

                                John 5:28 All in grave shall hear his voice
