SHEEP IN WOLF CLOTHING
1. Define – hypocrite
a. An actor, stage player
b. A pretender, a hypocrite
2. There are wolves that come in looking like sheep – Matthew 7:15 Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves.
a. Purpose – to do harm, devour, kill, destroy
b. Danger – they pretend to be sheep (hypocrite)
3. There are also sheep in wolves clothing – Galatians 2:11-13 Now when Peter had come to Antioch, I withstood him to his face, because he was to be blamed; 12 for before certain men came from James, he would eat with the Gentiles; but when they came, he withdrew and separated himself, fearing those who were of the circumcision. 13 And the rest of the Jews also played the hypocrite with him, so that even Barnabas was carried away with their hypocrisy.
a. Purpose – to fit in with the world, look like the world
b. Danger – they pretend to be wolves (hypocrite)
