Introduction: Hebrews warns not to go back to Judaism after obeying Christ!!!

  1. THE  DANGER  OF  DRIFTING  (Hebrews  2:1-3).

1.    Drifting  occurs  subtlety when not anchored to anything solid; if you are not “anchored” in the superiority of Jesus, you will drift with the currents of the world, flesh, and devil.

2.    The Problem: Inattention.

3.    The Possibility: Of drifting.

4.    The Test: Are You Listening?

  1. THE  DANGER  OF  AN  UNBELIEVING  HEART  (Hebrews 3:12-4:16).

1.    Don’t be like the generation that perished in the wilderness because of unbelief!

2.    The Problem: Hearing, but not Believing.

3.    The Possibility: Hardening of the heart.

4.    The Test: How Well Do You Rest?

  1. THE  DANGER  OF  PROLONGED  IMMATURITY  (Hebrews 5:11-6:20).

1.    Here, their dullness of hearing is exposed and rebuked.

2.    The Problem: Being Long-Time Babies.

3.    The Possibility: Missing the value of Melchizedek's priesthood.

4.    The Test: Are You Really Going Anywhere?

  1. THE  DANGER  OF  MISSED  REALITY—Seeing just the shadow (Hebrews 10:26-31).

1.    Beware of a willful rejection of Jesus’ perfect sacrifice for us.

2.    The Problem: Failing to Respond to Grace.

3.    The Possibility: Of spurning the Son.

4.    The Test: How Real Is Jesus Christ to You?

  1. THE DANGER OF CONTRADICTION (Hebrews 12:15-29).

1.    The Problem: The Practical Denial of Christ's Lordship.

2.    The Possibility: Of refusing Him the right to give orders.

3.    The Test: How Well Do You Worship In Obedience to Christ?
