  2. Material prosperity – 1:13-17

  3. His health – 2:7-8

  4. Support of his wife – 2:9; 19:17
She should have been a “helpmeet” - not a “hurtmeet”

    3. 10:10 – curdling him like cheese

    4. 16:9 – persecuting, gnashing him with teeth

    5. 16:11 – cast him into hands of wicked

    6. 16:12 – take by neck, dashing him to pieces

    7. 16:13 – shooting arrows at him

    8. 16:14 – running upon him like a giant

    9. 19:12 – sending troops against him

    10. 23:16 – terrifying him

    11. 29:4-5 – no longer his friend

    12. 30:19 – throwing him into the mud-pit

    13. 30:21 – being cruel with him

NOTE: Present vs Future Righteousness

  1. Job felt God had done him wrong.

  2. He does not believe that God was right and just in allowing the suffering.

  3. He believes in the ultimate and final righteousness of God.

  4. But he does not believe in the present righteousness.
