TITLE: Coronation of Christ

TEXT: Isaiah 9:6-7

PROPOSITION: If He is to be King of our life we must meet some obligations to Jesus.

QUESTION: How?

INTRODUCTION:

1.        Isaiah said - Jesus would be King.

2.        The word "LORD" includes power, authority, and king.

3.        If we would crown Jesus as King of our life ==

A.     There must be a kingdom

B.      We must be citizens

C.      We must obey the laws of the King

 

If Jesus is our KING we must:

                Song # 162 "All Hail the Power of Jesus' Name"

 

1. "Crown Him Lord of All" – 1st verse

A.      We must DO THE CROWNING

B.       I cannot make Jesus King of your life

C.       This is a personal choice - not by proxy

D.      It can not be done by force – must be a decision

 

2. Realize he is our Savior – 2nd verse

A.      We are his special, chosen, peculiar people.

A.      B. Jesus = Savior            Matt. 1:21

B.       Saved by his grace, love. John 3:16

C.       Without Him we would be nothing. Ransomed from fall

 

3. Be evangelistic – 3rd verse

A.      No prejudice - all nations, kindred, tongues – Lord of ALL

B.       Urge all to make him "King of their lives"

C.       How can you keep quiet? Not tell others?

 

4. Worship – 4th verse

A.      Join the sacred throng - down through the ages.

Abraham rejoiced to see his day.

24 elders - Rev. 4:10-11 "cast their crowns"

B.       Fall at his feet.

Phil. 2:9-11 every knee shall bow, confess

C.       Sing, praise, and honor him.

 

Conclusion: Will you "crown him Lord of all"?

King of my life, I crown thee now, thine shall the glory be;

Lest I forget Thy thorn-crowned brow, lead me to Calvary.
