TITLE: A Frog with Shoes
Hebrews 12:1-3
 We must have the proper shoes to work for God.


  1. Riddle – What kind of shoes do frogs wear? Answer: Open –toad sandals.
  2. Now for the sermon. What kind of shoes are you wearing?



  1. Sluggard – is the term found in Proverbs.

  2. Kingdom of God – no place for the lazy, couch potato

  3. The rest comes AFTER the labor and toil

  4. Many attend church for at time to relax (sleep).

Special Occasion shoes

  1. Growing up – I had “church shoes” and play shoes.
  2. CEO = Christmas, Easter Only
  3. MD = Mother’s Day
  4. Are you here for some special occasion?


Play shoes

  1. Many worship their work, work at their play, and play at their worship.

  2. How serious is your faith? Are you just playing church?

  3. Are you playing church?

Running shoes

  1. Hebrews 12:1-3 – Les us run the race set before us

  2. Some jog, some walk, some sprint – and some run.

  3. Are your racing shoes – sprint or long distance?

Dress shoes

  1. Dress for success

  2. Casual Friday – less productive, more mistakes

  3. Think about where you are going – Bring God your best

  4. I am not making any rules here – just something to think about

  5. Are you spiritually dressed for success?

Work shoes

  1. Army needs soldiers

  2. Vineyard needs workers

  3. 1 Corinthians 15:58 – your labor is not in vain

  4. John 9:4 – Work while it is day, night comes and no man can work
