INTRODUCTION:
- It
is time for the last supper, betrayal, trial, death.
- Jesus
washed their feet – Teaches humility
- Then
he teaches the value of self-examination.
Possibility of evil in our hearts
- Why
not just say, "Judas, you are going to betray me tonight"?
- This
was Judas' last chance to repent
- One
of you = search your own heart
Could I do this? Do I have it in me?
- We
are human – all liable to sin
- No
blame each other – play guessing games.

Ignorance of Ourselves
- Is
it in me? Could I do such a thing?
- Galatians
6:1 – "considering yourself"
- Unaware
– Sin can be in the heart and we not know it
- Willful
ignorance – We do not want to know.
2 Peter 3:5 – This they willingly forget (willfully ignorant – KJV)
Self-Examination is necessary

Corinthians 11:28 – Let a man examine himself to partake of LS

Corinthians 13:5 – Examine yourselves if you are in the faith.
Test yourselves. Do you know that Christ is in you?

- BUT
– examine to see if you are a sinner
