Possibility of evil in our hearts

  1. Why not just say, "Judas, you are going to betray me tonight"?
  2. This was Judas' last chance to repent
  3. One of you = search your own heart
Could I do this? Do I have it in me?
  4. We are human – all liable to sin
  5. No blame each other – play guessing games.
I think it is Peter, Maybe it is John, It is likely Andrew, etc.

Ignorance of Ourselves

  1. Is it in me? Could I do such a thing?
  2. Galatians 6:1 – "considering yourself"
  3. Unaware – Sin can be in the heart and we not know it
  4. Willful ignorance – We do not want to know.
2 Peter 3:5 – This they willingly forget (willfully ignorant – KJV)

Self-Examination is necessary

  1. 1 Corinthians 11:28 – Let a man examine himself to partake of LS
  2. 2 Corinthians 13:5 – Examine yourselves if you are in the faith.
Test yourselves. Do you know that Christ is in you?
  3. NOT – examine to see if you are a saint
  4. BUT – examine to see if you are a sinner

Hope and Cheer

  1. Not me!
  2. WHEW!
  3. Examine = a ladder to climb up
  4. Become stronger – when you pass the test
