INTRODUCTION:
Some time back, Western Reserve University mailed out a questionnaire to 10,000 “clergymen” in five major U. S. denominations. They received a reply from 7,442 of them. The question they asked was simply phrased, “Do you believe the Bible to be the inspired Word of God?” The statistical breakdown of those who responded “no” was:
Why are these men in pulpits? Why are they not selling used cars or life insurance? Why are they in the pulpit each week giving lectures from a book they believe to be a fraud? Remember, the Bible CLAIMS to be inspired from God. If it is not inspired, it is a fake.
