No Plan B
TEXT: John 6:60-66
PROPOSITION: We must follow the plan of God.
QUESTION: What?
KEY WORD: Areas
SCRIPTURE READING: Same
INTRODUCTION:
- Have you ever stopped to think that Jesus did not have a
plan “B” if His plan “A” were rejected?
- Simon Peter understood the implications of this when he
told Jesus that there was nowhere else to go for eternal life (John 6:60-69).
- Consider Jesus’ rejection of Peter’s alternative
suggestion in Matthew 16:22-24; any other plan would have been from Satan!
- What about the multitude’s desire for another plan to
make him their king in John 6:15?
- Jesus was uncompromising in pressing the Father’s
agenda.

- John 14:6 – No man comes to the Father but by me
- Mark 16:15-16 – Believe and be baptized
- John 10:1 – Jesus is door – climb in other way = thief
and robber

- I Corinthians 11:23-26 – Communion
- Give freely – 2 Corinthians 9:7 – not of necessity, God
loves cheerful giver
There Is No Plan “B” for Conduct Among Brethren
- Ephesians 4:29 – Nothing corrupt – only what will edify
- Ephesians 4:30 – Put away bitterness, wrath, anger,
clamor, and evil speaking
- Philippians 2:3 – No selfish ambition, each esteem
others better than self
There Is No Plan “B” for Church Growth
- I Peter 2:9 – Chosen generation, royal priesthood, holy
nation
- Matthew 28:19 – Go and make disciples, teach them to
observe all things
- Mark 16:15 – Go preach the gospel to every creature
- Ephesians 4:11-16 – Saints equipped for work of
ministry, edifying the body
Conclusion:
- As Jesus did not compromise, so we must not compromise.
- God has only one plan for His people!
- In every aspect of Christianity, we must be about our
Father’s business.
