 INTRODUCTION:

  1. If you aim at nothing, you will hit it with remarkable accuracy.

  5. Word means to – stretch out, expand beyond where you are comfortable (comfort zone), reach for new challenges, new heights

 What is a goal?

  1. Specific (measurable) – not generic
    1. Do better in school – not specific; Get a B in math – specific
    2. Go on a trip – not to Wal-Mart; to Disney World
  2. Well thought out – not spur of the moment
  3. Genuine and sincere need to achieve – not just a wish list of desires

 How to set a goal

  1. Clearly write down the goal
  2. To achieve this goal I will begin now to:
  3. I will reach this goal by (date)
  4. EXAMPLE: My family will go to Disney World in the summer of 2003.
  5. To reach this goal we will:
    1. Gather information on tickets, hotels, travel
    2. Establish a budget
    3. Begin saving by eating out one less time per week
  6. We will be at Disney World in August, 2003

What are YOUR goals for this church?

What are YOUR goals for your personal life?

What goals should THIS CHURCH set for 2003 and beyond?

 What are your ETERNAL goals?
