TEXT: Psalm 92:12-15
PROPOSITION: Older members leave a rich legacy for us.
QUESTION: Why?
KEY WORD: Reasons
SCRIPTURE READING: Same
INTRODUCTION:
- Senior
members make an impact on all other groups in the church.
- Here
are some reasons for this impact.
Battles of the past
- Economic
struggles – start from scratch, buy land, build a building
- Established
policy – set precedence for how things are done
We enjoy the fruit of their labors
- They
fought the battles, we pick the fruit
- They
smoothed the way.
- They
removed the stumps, and boulders.
Church is on a solid foundation
- Elders,
preachers, deacons, dedicated teachers, workers
- Think
about elders, preachers, deacons of the past
- Think
about teachers that taught many of you
Continued concerns for us
- Do we
have the dedication of our seniors?
- Do we
know doctrine, morals, etc?
- What
direction will we take the church in the next few years?
Faithful in spite of problems
- Failing
health – eyes, hearing, walking (wheelchair, cane, walker)
- If
you can not see or hear, why do you come?
"Satan will know whose side I am on."
