Intercession of Spirit

Romans 8:26-27

1. The Fact Stated –

1.    Spirit makes intercession for us

2.    Likewise – previous mention of power of hope

2. The Help Needed –

1.    We know not what we should pray forgiven

2.    Not we don't know how to pray

3.    In times of stress – don't know what I really want or need

4.    Death of family member – Just repeat – Dear God, help me.

5.    In times of extreme pain, loss, suffering, fear, stress

3. The Method Followed –

1.    Makes intercession for us

2.    Intercession – to go to meet a person, to fall in with, conversation, consultation, supplication, to pray, entreat

3.    Mediator – 1 Timothy 2:5 – one mediator

4.    Many intercessors – Holy Spirit, friends, family, church members

4. The Material Used –

1.    Groaning which can not be uttered

2.    We can't put into words what we are feeling in our heart

3.    All we can do is groan, moan, weep, beg for help

5. The Reason Specified –

1.    Searches the heart, knows the mind

2.    Just as He searches the mind of God

3.    He searches our heart – translates our groaning
