Song – He Loves Me

Opening Prayer

Song (Oft We Come Together)

Lord’s Supper – Bread

1 Corinthians 11:23-24

Matthew 27:22-31

Jesus mocked beaten scourged  His body was broken...then nailed to the cross

Jesus fed 5,000 with 5 loaves & 2 fish...walked on the water...crossed the Sea

John 6:25-27   "you ate your fill of the loaves"

Do not work for the food that perishes, but for the food that endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give to you

John 6:31

John 6:32-33   true bread from heaven

John 6:34  we have this bread in Christ - we have life

John 6:35  bread of life  never hunger  never thirst  we will be filled with Christ

John 6:41

John 6:48-51 "I am the bread of life"  manna = died  If anyone eats of this bread, he will live

1 Corinthians 10:16-17

we are one with Christ  one with His disciples

Lord’s Supper – Cup

1 Corinthians 11:25

John 6:53-56 Whoever feeds on my flesh and drinks my blood abides in me, and I in him - eternal life

ever since the fall of Adam and Eve, sacrifices were required to cover sins...

Leviticus 17:11

Hebrews 9:22

Exodus 24:5-8

Law of Moses was inaugurated by blood of bulls & goats (oxen)

Law of Christ inaugurated by blood - His blood

 Hebrews 9:11-15

through His blood we are purified...sanctified...before God

His blood purifies our conscience from dead works to serve the living God

in Him a death has occurred that redeems from the transgressions.

Hebrews 9:17-22

“This is the blood of the covenant that God commanded for you.”  Moses - Christ

Indeed, under the law almost everything is purified with blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sins

Thoughts & Invitation

1 Corinthians 11:26

Each week as we partake of the Lord's Supper, we remember His death, burial, and resurrection

we remember His sacrifice that purifies, sanctifies, washes away our sins to bring us into a right relationship with God

we should praise Him and thank Him for all that He has done for us.

we need to always be thankful for His love, mercy, and grace poured out for us on the cross of Christ

At the Passover, God passed over the people of Israel and death did not come to them that night

because of the blood of the lamb on their doorpost

Like that night, God now "passes over" our sins (forgives them completely) because of the blood of the Lamb - Christ - poured out for us on the cross

His resurrection conquered sin and death...and by becoming partakers of Christ, through baptism into Him, we too have victory over sin and death

1 Corinthians 15:50-57

when we are baptized into Christ, we are raised to walk in newness of life...we are changed...we have victory...salvation...

Are you in Christ?

Are your sins washed away?

If not, why not?
